The daily coffee can go a bit further than just satisfying the standard caffeine fix. On the 8th August, this year, StreetSmart will be holding the 4th Annual CafeSmart event across Australia.
CafeSmart brings together coffee roasters, cafés and coffee drinkers around the country to help people who are homeless.
So how does it work?
When a customer buys a coffee on the 8th of Aug, the participating café will generously donate $1.00 from every coffee sold to fund local projects.
In 2013 – 275 Cafés around Australia raised close to $83,000.
StreetSmart is also teaming up with coffee roasters around Australia who will be supporting cafés through supplying discounted coffee beans on the day. You may even get some help from your milk supplier.
